Vietri sul mare

The first pearl of the Amalfi coast

Suspended between sky and sea, populated by small houses with terracotta tiles and small churches with majolica domes, Vietri sul Mare dominates the landscape of the Gulf of Salerno from above.

Visit the Provincial Ceramic Museum, located inside the beautiful Villa Guariglia, featuring splendid examples of ancient ceramics from Vietri, and the Manuel Cargaleiro Museum, established to promote the knowledge and art of contemporary ceramics.

In June, participate in the Feast of St. John the Baptist, where, amidst an atmosphere of joy and devotion, the town's patron saint is celebrated in the heart of the old village with processions and fireworks reflecting over the bay. Once in Vietri, stop by the nearby Bosco Croce Nature Reserve, at the foot of Monte Falerio, with its terraces of vineyards, orchards, and forests of holm oak and broom: a pristine environment where falcons, ravens, foxes, wild boars, owls, and Sardinian warblers live. The area also features springs like the Il Cesare spring, with tufts of maidenhair fern among the damp rocks and breathtaking views of the Gulf of Salerno.

Cava de' Tirreni, with its rich history and period costume performances, is easily reachable.

For trekking enthusiasts, there is an ancient path leading from Albori to the historic Benedictine abbey built by the Lombards in the year 1000, filled with cultural treasures and preserving a thousand years of history.

Salerno, the city of lights, offers a unique spectacle. For two months, the entire city transforms into a work of illuminated art with incredible installations that amaze visitors each year with their ability to innovate and evoke new emotions.

For those who love entertainment and nightlife, there is an abundance of options.

Salerno and Cava de' Tirreni boast pubs and venues offering a variety of music every evening, from jazz to rock, singer-songwriter performances, and theme nights.

The Amalfi Coast: the most beautiful place in the world.

If you love dancing and having fun in nightclubs, a visit to the famous Africana nightclub in Praiano (easily accessible by sea) or to Music on The Rocks in Positano is a must. Rent one of our boats for a romantic coastal trip, enjoying food and drinks while having fun without worrying about causing accidents or losing your license.

It is the first pearl of the Amalfi Coast: its wide beach, its scenic and cultural beauty and its architecture make it one of the favorite summer destinations.

Vietri sul Mare is located just 3 km from Salerno, nestled in the most protected corner of the gulf.

The main monument of the city, dating back to the 10th century, is the church of San Giovanni Battista, whose dome was made of colored majolica: visit the 15th century Greek cross inside which it houses. The church is located right inside the city center, which you can walk through alleys and picturesque facades. Along its streets and squares, stop to buy one of its typical souvenirs painted with the colors of the sea that have made it famous throughout the world. Vietri is one of the most important centers of artistic and traditional ceramic production: an event not to be missed is the Journey through Ceramics, between May and June, an art journey through exhibitions and reviews for one of the most memorable artisan traditions.
